This assay employs the Double Antibody Sandwich ELISA technique. The 96-well plates are initially coated with polyclonal antibodies targeting the SARS-CoV-2 S1 protein. When samples are added, the S1 antigen from the virus binds to these coated antibodies. Subsequently, HRP-conjugated anti-SARS-CoV-2 S1 antibodies are added, creating a complex of coated antibody, antigen, and HRP-labeled antibody. The presence of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 in the sample is then measured by the intensity of the color change caused by TMB substrate, which reflects the amount of antigen present.
